As another reviewer stated, this is not a techie program. It's highly academic and focused on constructivism and educational pedagogy for online teaching and learning -- and the program practices what it is teaching. The classes are highly interactive and collaborative among students -- it's amazing what can be done via an asynchronous course management system. The curriculum is more suitable for classroom teachers and college faculty than for corporate trainers and instructional designers, although program participants come from a wide range of fields, including healthcare and high tech. The faculty and support personnel are exceptional.

This was a great program. I learned a lot about teaching, learning, distance learning and instructional design. This is not a techie degree -- this degree will give you principles that you can apply to teaching and learning with technology and online. I still use the principles and tools I learned in this program. There were some instructors that I found difficult (I think a few were working too many jobs at once) but this just proves the contention that the online experience is just as human as the offline. The admin support of this program is just incredible -- very fast, responsive, and helpful. The instructors are all really good -- this program gave me a chance to experience a wide variety of teaching styles. The degree has allowed me to teach in colleges as an adjunct, work as a free-lance educational consultant, and get a full-time instructional designer position at a community college.
